Father’s Day in Italy: Cherished Traditions and Recipes

March 19th. On this day we celebrate Father’s Day in Italy and we would like to wish all the fathers in the world a happy Father’s Day. For those who have their Dad in heaven, for sure, he continues to live in their hearts, tied with the memory of the time spent, a lifetime, together.

For this special occasion, we had great time preparing a truly special dessert that cannot be missing from our table and that we will serve after the meal with our family guests, as we used to do when my Dad was alive. Indeed, it was his favorite dessert for celebrating his day.

It is the sweet version, made of almond paste and a creamy cake, of a humble dish made of fresh homemade pasta (sagne, tria) and chickpeas, which belongs to the tradition of Puglia gastronomy. Those, who come to visit us in Apulia, are invited to have a taste of it. It is delicious.
