Tonight, we're in good company, enjoying a cup of tea and its warm, fragrant wafts of red berries and a beautiful story we're about to read. We're entering the world of children, like Kristoffer, the protagonist of Jon Fosse's story "Kant." Perhaps our immediate reaction might be to smile at the wonder and myriad curiosities of a child. Actually, if we think about it, Kristoffer asks for explainations that are difficult for anyone to give without resorting to imagination. "The universe is something I don't understand. I don't understand how it can be infinite…" - Kristoffer wonders. The little child thinks there's a sleeping giant somewhere in the universe and that we might be the dream of the giant.
